Daydream: Waitomo Glowworm Caves – New Zealand

GlowWorm1

Hello friends!  It’s been quite a while since I’ve shared a daydream with you…so check out my { Daydreams } page if you feel like catching up!  Today I’m dreaming of New Zealand’s Waitomo Glowworm Caves – a place that seems to have leapt straight out of a fantasy novel!  The ancient cave is pitch black, except for the dots of light emanating from thousands of blue insects.  These tiny insects create a strangely captivating milky way of colors above you as you glide past them in your tiny wooden boat.  The Glowworm Grotto is the most famed of New Zealand’s Glowworm caves and is home to Arachnocampa luminosa, a species of glowworm that is indigenous to the country.  (Source)

Enjoy!
