Leave It All On The Road // 08.11.2014

Hello again!  It’s time for my weekly fitness recap!  And I tell you what…it is AWESOME to be back in workout mode with the hubby!!!  The man pushes a button inside of me making me want to run…and to run faster!  Maybe it’s having a fast training partner, or maybe it’s just the thought of a potential future race, but these past two weeks have been a great mix: consistent mileage, fast runs, steady runs, easy runs, and cross-training!  And I hit a HUGE 2014 Running Goals milestone – 300 miles (or 1/2 of my 2014 goal of 600 miles)!  After completing Monday’s 2 mile run, I noticed that I was only 2.7 miles until 300 miles…so I hopped right back on the treadmill!!!  I may have been 34 days behind targeted schedule (July 31st) – but I’m still going strong and it felt great to see that number!

{ Aug 04 – Aug 10, 2014 }

  • Monday: Cardio: 2.3 mile walk, 2 mile run, 2.7  mile run; Strength + Abs: Jillian Michaels Yoga Meltdown
  • Tuesday: Cardio: 3 mile walk, 1 mile run, 6.65 mile stationary bike
  • Wednesday: Cardio: 3 mile walk
  • Thursday: Cardio: 1 mile walk
  • Friday: Cardio: 3 mile walk, 5 mile run (1 mile warm-up, 4×800 sprints w/400 jog in between, 1 mile cool-down)
  • Saturday: Cardio: 3 mile walk, 5 mile run
  • Sunday: Cardio: 3.5 mile walk, 3.1 mile run, 4.3 mile walk; Strength + Abs: 45 sec Plank

Walking – 22.1 miles
Biking – 6.65 miles
Elliptical – NA
Running – 18.8 miles
Strength – 1 Session

{ Notes From My Runs }

08.04 – Run #1: Mile 1: 0.8m@6.7, 0.2m@8.2 Mile 2: 0.2m@6.5,6.6,6.7,6.8,8.2.   Trying to get faster…introducing some increased speed

08.04 – Run #2: A Lil’ extra distance to reach 1/2 milestone of my 2014 running goal: 300 miles!! 34 days behind scheduled target…but still going strong.

08.05 – 0.6m@6.7 and 0.4m@8.2. (Trying to increase endurance of higher speed by adding 0.2m more every day for next 4 weeks.)

08.08 – Warm-up mile @6.0 4×800 @7.5 sprint with 4×400 @5 recovery Cool-down mile @6.0

08.09 – Steady outdoor 5 miler with hubby along Eau Claire!

08.10 – Gym run.  1.0m @6.7, 1.0m@7.0, 0.6m@7.1, 0.5@7.2
