Daydream: Seven Coloured Earth { Mauritius }

ColouredEarth1

Hello friends!  Today I’m { daydreaming } about this amazing geological formation found in the Chamarel Plain in Mauritius.  The sand is divided into seven colors: blue, purple, yellow, red, brown, violet, and green.  The truly remarkable part of the formation is that the colors spontaneously settle in different layers, creating dunes with surreal, striped coloring.  Even if you were to pick up some sand and mix all the colors together in your hands, it would still settle into a layered formation, one layer for each color.  The phenomenon behind this distinct formation still remains a mystery.  I could sit here and look at pictures of this magical place all day long  (Image credits via 1, 2, 3 / Info found HERE).  Enjoy!
