Leave It All On The Road // 09.08.2014

Hello again!  It’s time for my weekly fitness recap!  Mileage looks a lil’ high this week, but that’s because the long run from last weekend was moved to Monday.  On Tuesday, we had a team-building evening – GOLF.  It was my first time ever playing…and it was fun!  Although we had some rain for the first 6 or so holes, it was still fun to get out and whack the ball!  On Wednesday, the work gym was super full, so we decided to head home and try our luck at the condo gym.  There was only 1 treadmill available, so I hopped on the bike for a cross-train day.  We had an AWESOME run on Friday…and I honestly don’t know where it came from…but it was super fast, I had fresh legs, and I felt amazing…but I will take it and own it!!!  We did an “easy” run on Saturday, the day before our Corporate Challenge 10K.  We felt so good that even though we started out at a 9:21/mile pace for Mile 1, we ended up running slightly negative splits and ended at a 9:04/mile pace for the last half mile.  Oops!  But I felt good and was breathing good…so why not?!

  • Monday: Cardio: 6.7 mile walk, 7 mile run
  • Tuesday: Other: Golf – 18 Holes
  • Wednesday: Cardio: 2 mile walk; 7.15 mile stationary bike
  • Thursday: Cardio: 2 mile walk
  • Friday: Cardio: 3 mile walk; 3.25 mile run
  • Saturday: Cardio: 1.5 mile walk, 3.5 mile run
  • Sunday: Cardio: 4.5 mile walk, 6.2 mile run (Calgary Corporate Challenge 10K)

Walking – 19.7 miles
Biking – 7.15 miles
Elliptical –  NA
Running – 19.95 miles
Strength – NA

{ Notes From My Runs }

09.01 – Outdoor Run: AMAZING run!  Was able to push hard every mile and maintain same pace for 6 miles.  Slight side cramp at miles 2 and 4, but pushed through.  Last mile was a slower loop around Prince’s Edward Island.

09.05 – Outdoor Run: REALLY pushed the pace on this run.  Fresh legs after 3 days off.

09.06 – Outdoor Run: Nice and easy – 10K race tomorrow.

09.07 – Outdoor Run: Calgary Corporate Challenge 10K!  SUPER hilly course – had to walk a few paces (~10-15 seconds) at miles 2.5, 4, & 5 just to even our breath.  New 30 second PR!
