Leave It All On The Road // 09.15.2014

Hello friends!  It’s time for my weekly fitness recap!  I’m not going to lie – this was a WEIRD week, with lots of random occasions, so I might have slacked off on my running just a bit.  Oops.  After an awesome PR 10K run on Sunday, in beautiful weather I might add, we woke up on Monday to SNOW.  Yes….it was snowing in September.  Still Summer.  It was forecasted to snow Tuesday and Wednesday…but typically the predictions aren’t always so accurate…so I thought it may cool down a bit at the most, perhaps frost in the early mornings.  But nope…a full mini-blizzard.  For three days.  Then the hubby had a quick business trip Tuesday and Wednesday, and I wasn’t *as* motivated to get out for a solo run.  Thursday disappeared into thin air…  And this weekend, we did LOTS of cheering and spectating for various events during the Calgary Corporate Challenge.  We supported our volleyball team Saturday morning, who sadly lost in the semi-finals.  The hubby and I were supposed to play softball, but due to the rainy weather on Friday/Saturday, the games were canceled.  We therefore decided to cheer on our Ultimate Frisbee team.  It was my first ever experience with Ultimate…and I LOVED it!  Our company ended up winning the GOLD after 3 rounds of play.  Sunday morning we got up and cheered on our Basketball team.  We won our first game, lost our second game, and ended up winning our third game for a BRONZE medal. Late afternoon on Sunday, the hubby and I decided to go for our traditional long walk – 4.5 miles.  Our main motivation was to reach 30,000 steps (a separate company challenge!), but the weather ended up being so fantastic that we just kept on walking…and walking…and walking…for an ADDITIONAL 8.75 miles.  Awesome – right?!
